The “Modern Family” cast recently gathered for their own family reunion, a heartwarming event captured in photos shared by Sofía Vergara on Wednesday.
In the first of four Instagram posts, the actress exclaimed, “First Modern Family reunion!!!!” accompanied by two heart emojis.
Expressing gratitude for the 11 years spent working with the cast, she shared a second post saying, “So lucky to have worked with these people for 11 years❤️. I love and miss u all guys!!! #modernfamily.”
The collection of photos featured the majority of the cast, though Ty Burrell was notably absent. Ariel Winter held a photo of his character, Phil Dunphy, and there were shots of Winter and Sarah Hyland posing together, as well as Vergara, Hyland, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and his husband, Justin Mikita.
Other attendees included Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet and his fiancée, Lindsay Schweitzer, and the younger cast members, now all grown up: Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. Co-creators Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan also joined the reunion.
Ferguson and Stonestreet shared photos on their Instagram stories, humorously captioned, “Look who they’re making me work with today.”
Expressing his appreciation, Ferguson commented on one of the posts, writing, “Thanks for hosting Sofia!!!! Love you.”
Despite Burrell’s absence, Vergara made sure to include him in a photo on a mantle, writing, “We miss u Ty!!”
“Modern Family” was a hit ABC comedy that spanned 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020, earning 22 Emmys, including five consecutive wins for Best Comedy Series during its 250-episode run.
2023 seems to be a year of reunions, with impromptu “Ted Lasso” and “Mean Girls” reunions, along with the announcement of a “Dance Moms” reunion special.
