Mirror, the renowned Hong Kong boy band that gained widespread acclaim in 2018 before encountering an untimely halt to their live performances due to a tragic on-stage incident, is poised to make a triumphant return to the stage in January.
The expansive 12-member ensemble is set to grace the Asia World Expo auditorium, a prominent venue in Hong Kong, for 16 enthralling shows as part of their much-anticipated ‘Mirror Feel the Passion Concert Tour 2024.’ Scheduled from Jan. 15-17, 19-22, 24-27, 29-31, and concluding on Feb. 2-3, 2024, this event is said to serve as a substitute for the canceled concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum in July 2022. Details regarding ticketing are yet to be disclosed.
Mirror’s previous tour, ‘Mirror We Are,’ encountered a setback when a colossal LED screen plummeted from the ceiling during their performance. The incident, captured on video, resulted in injuries to two dancers, one of them serious. In the aftermath, the Hong Kong government initiated legal proceedings against several entities involved in organizing the concert, prompting regulatory changes concerning suspended stage installations.
This incident, etched in the memories of fans who experienced trauma witnessing the mishap, occurred during a pivotal period for Mirror. The band was credited with breathing new life into the Cantopop scene, posing a formidable challenge to K-Pop, and instilling a renewed sense of optimism in Hong Kong, which had weathered a tumultuous year of political and social upheaval followed by protracted and stringent COVID restrictions.
Originating from the talent competition “Good Night Show – King Maker,” the group has not only embarked on individual journeys in music, film, and television but also ventured into the international scene with their debut English-language single, “Rumours,” earlier this year.
