Following its successful expansion into the U.K., the U.S., and the Netherlands, Paris-based prominent unscripted production powerhouse Satisfaction is now poised to make significant strides in Spanish-speaking markets. Satisfaction’s founder, Arthur Essebag, a renowned entrepreneur and TV host, has joined forces with Daniel Domenjo, an esteemed Spanish producer and host, to establish Satisfaction Iberia.
This newly formed company is dedicated to developing, adapting, and producing primarily unscripted content tailored for the Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American markets. It aims to collaborate with a diverse array of international partners. Domenjo, who previously led Mediacrest and played a pivotal role in producing numerous successful formats in Spain, assumes the role of CEO at Satisfaction Iberia. Under his guidance, Mediacrest achieved significant milestones, including 15 seasons of “The Chase” and hit primetime shows like “Mapi,” “The Floor,” “Crónicas del Zoo,” and “La Solución,” along with the ongoing production of “Asuntos Internos.”
Earlier this year, Satisfaction ventured into English-language markets by acquiring a stake in Yes Yes Media, founded by Richard Bacon alongside Elisabeth Murdoch’s Sister Media. Additionally, the company formed a joint venture with Fulwell 73, the U.K.-based production company behind “The Late Late Show With James Corden.”
Arthur Essebag expressed enthusiasm about the strategic expansion, stating, “Following our recent partnerships with Talpa, Fullwell 73, and Yes Yes Media, we continue to strategically expand our international presence with Satisfaction Iberia to bring new programs to the screen.” Essebag commended Domenjo for his “long track record as a successful producer and top executive.”
Essebag highlighted the shared characteristics of Spain, Portugal, and France in audiovisual content, emphasizing that the collaboration would introduce a new, agile, and innovative player to the market. Domenjo expressed his honor and privilege in partnering with Satisfaction, emphasizing the vision, experience, and extensive catalog of hits and worldwide deals within the Satisfaction production companies.
Satisfaction Iberia, according to Domenjo, will “focus on every kind of genre” and contribute to the international consolidation of the group. Founded in 2010 by Essebag, Satisfaction produces over 1,000 hours of TV content weekly across more than 30 territories. It has become a key player in format creation and production in France, boasting hits like “Anything Goes” and the upcoming adaptation of Talpa’s format “The Floor” for France Televisions titled “A la conquête du sol.” Additionally, Satisfaction Group adapts and produces popular formats such as “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire,” “Dragon’s Den,” “Newly Wed,” and “Who Bares Wins.”
In 2020, Satisfaction Group acquired the French operations of Sony Pictures Television, including Sony Pictures Television France and Starling. A strategic partnership with Talpa Netherlands followed a year later, further solidifying Satisfaction’s standing in the global entertainment landscape.
