Warner Bros. Discovery China is set to unveil the captivating reality TV spectacle, “Glow Up China,” on Tencent Video later this month, immersing audiences in the enchanting world of Chinese makeup artists. Scheduled for a December debut, the 6-episode, 60-minute series, developed by Warner Bros. Independent Television Production (WBITVP), mirrors the format initiated by Wall to Wall for the BBC.
In an unprecedented collaboration, Warner Bros. Discovery, Tencent Video, and the renowned cosmetics brand Perfect Diary unite to bring this spectacle to life, marking the seventh international adaptation of the “Glow Up” format. The show is poised to transcend borders, with Warner Bros. Discovery undertaking international distribution.
As the stage is set, “Glow Up China” promises viewers an insider’s view as eight zealous contestants wield brushes and palettes, vying for the coveted title of China’s next makeup luminary. Drawing inspiration from Chinese nuances, cultural elements, and local beauty trends, the participants’ eclectic skills will undergo scrutiny from industry stalwarts Tony Li and Chen Xinmiao. A constellation of star guests, including actress Zhao Lusi, singer Jike Junyi, makeup director Xiao Jin, and fashion luminary Lan Yu, will grace the series.
